First Olympic Winter Games - The first olympic winter games was at the foot of Mont Blanc in Chamonix, France. It was originally called Semaine Internationale des Sports d'Hiver ( International Winter Sports Week ). It occurred the same year as the Summer Olympics up until 1994, where it was moved to happen in the second year after the Summer Olympics.
